Nigerian actress, Iyabo Ojo recently opened up about the journey of her love life and how she found her partner, Paulo Okoye.
In a chat with Toke Makinwa, the actress shared her heartwarming love story, detailing the moments that brought them together and the deep connection they’ve built.
She revealed she was initially reluctant about the relationship due to Paulo’s affiliations in the entertainment industry.
The actress said she was concerned about her story being constantly in the public eye if she fell in love with someone in showbiz.
However, she agreed to date Paulo after making inquiries from her colleagues and was sure of his marital status.
Everything I said that I would never do, he has changed the narrative. No one has ever slid to my DM, and I was not going to give the slightest attention, and I never knew him,” she said.
“And when his message popped up, I was like, who is this one? I went on his page to check him out. I checked his videos and noticed his page was verified, and I was sure he is not all these fraudsters.
“I noticed he knows many of these musicians, and I was like I do not want anybody in the entertainment industry.
“My story will be out every blessed day, Oh my God, I no dey do. So that was like a no-no-no for me, but I felt like, let me respond, someone like this, you just keep them in one corner as a friend.
“I told him that I was in a relationship and I was not even interested in dating him, and he asked, why do you not want to date me, and I answered, ‘Because you are a married man’, and he said ‘I am not married’. And I just kept asking questions about him, and I asked everybody I know would know him.”
