Veteran Nollywood actor Obinna Nwafor, popularly known as Saint Obi has died at the age of 58, after a prolonged illness. He was a celebrated Nigerian actor, film producer, and film director who sadly passed away at the age of 58. Born on November 16, 1965, Saint Obi made significant contributions to the Nigerian film industry throughout his career, leaving behind a rich legacy.
Saint Obi gained recognition for his memorable roles in movies such as “Candle Light,” “Sakobi,” “Goodbye Tomorrow,” “Heart of Gold,” “Festival of Fire,” “Executive Crime,” and “Last Party.” With his versatility and captivating performances, he became a beloved figure in the hearts of many Nigerian movie enthusiasts. Having pursued a major in theatre arts at the University of Jos, Saint Obi entered the acting scene in 1996 after featuring in a commercial for Peugeot on NTA. His talent and dedication led him to star in over 60 movies, showcasing his acting prowess and contributing to the growth of the Nigerian film industry.
In 2001, Saint Obi ventured into film production with his first movie titled “Take Me to Maama,” where he not only produced but also portrayed the character Jerry.
